According to an NBC News poll, only 39% of Americans support their president
More than half of Americans – 56% – reject Joe Biden’s performance as president of the United States, as the ratification of the US leader has reached a new low, dropping to 39%, according to a new opinion poll by NBC News.
As they now have to pay more for their food, gas, rent and other bills, 65% of Americans claim that their household income is lagging behind the cost of living in the United States today due to skyrocketing inflation. As a result, according to the survey, only 33% of those surveyed approve of Biden’s running the economy.
The poll further suggests that 75% of Americans believe their country is on the wrong track. The last time Americans felt this way was during the Great Depression of 2008, when that number exceeded 75%.
“It’s a flashing red light when you see a number like this.” Republican pollster Paul McIntyre, who conducted the poll, said. “Americans are telling us it’s as bad as 2008.” He added.
The study comes as the United States prepares for the upcoming primary in mid-November. Concerned about rising costs, political issues ranging from immigration and climate change to electoral integrity and gun rights, supporters of both parties are more likely to vote in the meantime, Polster suggests. This is especially true of Democrats, most of whom support a woman’s constitutional right to abortion, which has recently been questioned.
