Elon Musk hinted he could try to renegotiate the price of his Twitter takeover, saying a deal at a lower price was “not out of the question,” Bloomberg reported on Monday.

Musk is said to have commented on their “All-in” podcast while speaking at a summit hosted by Chamath Palihapitia, Jason Calakanis, David Sax and David Friedberg.

Twitter shares have briefly recovered some of the day’s losses before falling again. The stock fell more than 7% on the day that investors feared Musk would return to its মিড 44 billion deal to acquire the social media company.

Twitter shares have also wiped out all profits since Musk announced its investment in the company on April 4 due to a sale late last week. Musk said Friday that the acquisition was “on hold” when he researched the ratio of fake and spam accounts on the platform, which he believes Twitter did wrong.

According to a Bloomberg report on Monday, Musk estimated that fake users make up at least 20% of all users. Twitter, meanwhile, said the accounts generated less than 5% of its monetized daily active users in the last quarter.
